THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING A POODLE FROM PRINCETIN POODLES LLC

It is apparent that a great deal of thought and discernment was made on making your decision to make one of our puppies a part of your family.

Our Poodles are bred from the very best dogs that are in our breeding program. A great deal of time and effort has been invested to ensure that each breeding will produce puppies that are healthy, beautiful and sound with great temperament.

All our puppies are born and raised in our loving home. A great deal of time and effort is dedicated to producing a loving family pet. We take a lot of pride in raising these babies and spend lots of time socializing them at a very young age.

I will always be happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding training, behavior, health etc. I am interested in our puppy's welfare for his/her Life.

I have compiled a few of my tips on puppy rearing:

1. Please don't allow him/her to jump off furniture while young as a broken bone may result from improper landing.

2. It is very important that he/she does not romp and play with another pet that is much larger than him/her on a continual basis as an injury may arise.

3. While in the process of crate and potty training don't allow him/her to drink any water or food after 6:00 pm.

4. Don't allow him/her to climb stairs, do a lot of jumping, overly exercise, or overly feed him/her because all of these factors can contribute to Hip Dysplasia.

Our Poodles are people dogs and we call them our human dogs . . . They are very eager and willing to please!! They are the most intelligent of all the breeds. They need to know their place in your life. They are very sensitive to your moods and are great companions. Poodles are an inside dog and must be with their people. They love to swim and their most favorite toy is a ball. We only recommend the Kong ball because it is indestructible and cannot be chewed into large pieces. The easiest way to teach them to fetch the ball is to use a hallway in your home or along side a fence with another portable fencing along side it leaving a four foot wide space, to retrieve the ball and bring it back to you. You the handler sits down on the floor/ground using your arms to block him/her as to not escape from that space when bringing the ball back to you. First show him/her the ball and say, READY!, in an exited voice to get their attention, then throw it and say, TAKE IT! Then, RIGHT HERE! (Give hand command), then say, LEAVE!, The commands, TAKE IT and LEAVE are Obedience commands that are used in the show ring for the retrieving exercise.

I hope that you enjoy your puppy as I did. I always appreciate your letters of referrals, testimonials, and pictures of your new addition. Please feel free to call me and let me know how your Poodle is progressing.

God Bless,

PRINCETIN POODLES LLC

POODLE GROOMING INFORMATION

Poodles show great pride in their appearance and are a great site to see. They don't like to be dirty or matted. They like to swim, go for long walks, play and love on you. There is no limit what they can learn, and can be used in ANY application.

The Poodle is a beautiful animal and a fun dog to live with. Grooming is a very important part of his/her life which has already begun at 4 weeks old. Whatever you do, do not frighten your puppy or make him/her nervous about grooming.

BRUSHING: He/she should be brushed at least several times a week. If he/she is not brushed regularly the coat will mat. Always brush away from the skin, but always make sure you brush from the skin. The correct brush for a pet is a curved slicker. A steel comb with half course and half fine is needed to run through the hair after brushing. Your puppy should be brushed out thoroughly before being bathed.

BATHING: He/she should be bathed once a month using a good dog shampoo and a conditioner because it has the correct PH. I use baby shampoo for the face and top not only. Be careful not to get water in ears. I put a cotton ball in each ear before bathing. Remember with long, lay down ears, moisture can build up inside the ear causing ear infections. Blow dry under low heat. It's best to use a pin brush than a slicker brush at this time while blow drying.

NAILS: Their nails should be kept short and trimmed weekly or at least every two weeks. They don't wear down naturally. If left long for a period of time, the high arched toes that he/she once had will then become flat footed and their toes will spread apart making walking difficult and uncomfortable. Don't let the nails touch the floor or they will have to be cut back which will bleed and hurt. The correct nail length is just above the curve of the nail. I recommend the electric Dremil a hand tool with sand paper rings to grind down nails, and can be purchased at Walmart in the pet section. Be careful as to not let ear hair or tail hair near Dremil while in use.

EARS: Ear hair should be pulled out of the ear flap and ear canal with your thumb and index finger at least every 2 weeks to prevent yeast infections, bacterial infections and mites. I recommend the R7 ear powder for hair removal. After hair removal, clean out ears by placing a ½ a cotton ball or a whole cotton ball formed around your index finger or smallest finger (depending on size of ear canal) and wet the cotton ball with R7 liquid ear cleaner, insert and twist finger in a circular motion, in and around ear flap and ear canal a few times from right to left, then in a down and upwards motion, cleaning around the ear thoroughly. You may use more than 1 cotton ball till it comes out clean.

GROOMER: Do not expose your puppy to the grooming shop till ALL puppy shots including Rabies and Bordetella are administered. Remember your puppy is not fully covered and could get sick and die of parvo, distemper, etc. Have your puppy groomed every 4 to 6 weeks. A puppy cut is the most common hair style.

I sincerely hope you enjoy your new puppy as much as I enjoyed raising him/her and you will have a Loving, Loyal Friend Forever.

CRATE TRAINING & HOUSE TRAINING

CRATE TRAINING: A crate is not a hostage situation, it is the safest place the puppy can learn about housebreaking, have it's meals, sleep at night, safe place to stay while you are away, ride in the car and stay at hotels. It has become it's own personal den. The nature of a dog is not to foul it's nest.

Have a crate size that the puppy will fit comfortably. Make sure the crate is large enough so that the puppy has room enough to stand contentedly with head up, turn around and enough space to lay down with ease. I recommend a large crate with a center divider in it. The puppy can use ½ the crate when young, and the whole crate when older by removing the divider.

With crate training you need to let your puppy out to potty every 2 hours or so till it gets older to have the capacity to hold it longer. Remember after every feeding, the puppy will need to potty within 15 minutes to 1 hour!

The first night, you should start off by putting the puppy in the crate to allow him/her to get adjusted. You and your family may not get too much sleep for the first week of his/her wining, till puppy adjusts. Feed your puppy on a routine schedule making sure the puppy has been fed and watered before 6:00 pm., then take up the water and food by 7:00 pm.

Make sure the puppy goes potty before going to bed. Always reward the puppy with a biscuit for entering the crate.

The first couple of nights are the most important nights. Training is always a matter of patience and time with repetition and consistency!! The more you are consistent, the faster they learn. Using a timer can help.

You should always travel with the puppy in it's crate, it's the safest way. Always reward the puppy for great behavior. You should always carry treats for your dog on any occasion for showing great behavior.

HOUSE TRAINING: I recommend a doggy bell that you can purchase at Walmart in the dog section or most pet stores. Place it on the door knob of which the puppy will go out to potty. Every hour, ask your puppy, potty outside, then take the puppy to the door, you shake the bell and use the command such as this, potty outside. With repetition and consistency; using the same command by everyone in your household, the puppy will learn quickly to then ring the bell him/herself by nudging it with it's nose or paw to go outside. I have had several clients use this method of house training and have had feedback as to how quickly they learn to ring the bell themselves to potty outside. Most of my puppies learn it in one week! Remember to always praise the puppy as it pottys, such as . . . Good potty outside!!! (with high pitch joy in your voice) then your are teaching the meaning of the words at the same time it's going potty, and at the same time the puppy is rewarded with praise!!

OBEDIENCE TRAINING

Why Train Your Dog?

Dogs by nature, are pack animals with a well-defined social order. As you and your family become your dog's pack, your new dog will look to you - the leader of the pack - for guidance. Leadership can be established in a firm but friendly manner. Keep in mind that it is unrealistic to expect the dog to abide by the rules of the household without the leader teaching appropriate behavior!

Much like people, every dog is different and training is necessary for all dogs and beneficial to your entire family.

Training will:

* Help correct nuisance behaviors such as jumping on people, digging, barking, and chewing, while providing mental

and physical activities for your dog.

* Deepen the bond between you and your dog, and to increase the enjoyment, companionship, and satisfaction of your

relationship with your dog.

* Ensure your dog?s safety and happiness.

* Nurture good canine companionship for the benefit of your family, neighborhood and community.

* Allow you to enjoy the fun and excitement of competing in AKC Obedience, tracking and agility trials, among other

activities. You and your dog can earn certificates and titles while you continue to strengthen your communication and

teamwork.

Types of Training Classes

* Puppy Class - A developmental training course for the 3 to 5 month-old puppy. A puppy class emphasizes

socialization with people and other puppies. Instructors usually offer information on growth, nutrition, grooming,

housebreaking and problem-solving and teach basic household commands.

* Basic Class - A basic training course for dogs 5-to-6 months and older, aimed at training you to train your dog. The

Basic class emphasizes the essential training commands needed to make a dog a good companion: heel on a loose

leash, sit, stand, down, stay in position, and come when called. Instructors also usually provide information on

nutrition, grooming and problem-solving. This basic training is important in keeping your dog safe.

* Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Class - May be a separate class or a part of a beginner class at AKC clubs and other

organizations. CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs that have good manners at home and

in the community. Your dog will need to know the commands and exercises taught in a basic training class to qualify

for a passing score on the CGC test. Dogs that pass the CGC test receive a certificate from the AKC and are

recorded in the AKC?s Canine Good Citizen Archive.

* Training Classes for Competition Events - A variety of classes that prepare students and their dogs for competition in

obedience, rally, agility, tracking and other AKC events. You will be instructed in the levels of competition and titles

available, how to teach your dog the required exercises, and the regulation that apply when your are competing.

CRUCIAL INFORMATION FOR THE LIFE OF YOUR PUPPY

Crucial information about PARVO, DISTEMPER, ETC. NOTE: It takes 24 hrs. for a shot to take effect!!!!

If your puppy has not had 4 puppy booster shots (5-way), rabies shot and bordetella vaccine, then your puppy is NOT COVERED, meaning that there is a possibility that he/she can catch parvo, distemper, rabies, etc. Your puppy can get extremely sick and may die, so please take extra precautions below. NOTE: It takes 7 years for parvo to leave the ground where once contaminated!!!

DO NOT SUB-JECT YOUR PUPPY TO WHAT IS LISTED BELOW, UNLESS YOU SOCIALIZE SAFELY . . . Check out "Safe socialization" next on this page!

1. A walk around the block - parking lot - pet store - dog park - doggy restaurant - nose to nose with other dogs - any store - dog class - grooming shop till he/she has had shots!

2. Family and friends dirty shoes: Have EVERYBODY take their shoes off outside or an outside porch as to not contaminate your floor with parvo and distemper tracked in on your shoes from the gas station, grocery store or anywhere!!

3. Dirty hands: EVERYBODY get used to washing your hands with antibacterial soap or hand sanitizer before picking up your lovely puppy! You may want to buy several hand sanitizers and place them in convenient, noticeable places so you all remember to put it on, such as near the puppies crate, by the front door for visitors, in the kitchen, bathrooms, etc.

4. Veterinarians floor: Always hold your puppy in your arms, you never know what dog just came into the vets office that day or right before you or during your visit with a dog that has parvo, etc.

5. Veterinarian's examining table: Nicely ask the vet or vet tech if the table was sanitized with Parvosol. Remember, you are subjecting your little puppy that has NO AMMUNE SYSTEM to ward off any disease as your older dogs do. It's like taking your human baby into the hospital where he/she can come down with a horrible painful sickness!

6. Dirty door handles: Sanitize all your door knobs including refrigerator door handles and all water faucet handles. Scrub floors with bleach water. Vacuum rugs thoroughly.

7. DO NOT BUY: Raw hide, pigs feet, any rope toys, stuffed dogs toys, and stuffed dog pillows. It is known to veterinarians that several dogs need surgery and/or die from the stuffing, etc. The foreign object gets lodged in the intestines!!

8. Only purchase: Hard Nyla-bones, Kong Balls and Kong Bones, these are the safest!

9. DO NOT: Play tug of war with your puppy, it may cause his/her bite to go off (as in over bite or under bite.)

SAFE SOCIALIZATION PRACTICES

Safe Socialization Practices by our Trainer/Teacher

If you've gotten a new puppy between 8 and 12 weeks old, you have a very short while to properly socialize it. If certain responses are not learned before 14 weeks of age, the puppy can grow up unable to communicate with other dogs, afraid of people and sounds, suspicious or aggressive.

Many breeders, shelters, even veterinarians mistakenly tell puppy owners to keep their young puppy isolated, away from other dogs, people, or locations until the final vaccinations against communicable diseases have been given. By that time, the puppy's attitudes and reactions are set for life!

Here are some ideas to socialize your pup while keeping it safe from disease until its immunizations are effective:

Leave the pup with the mother and siblings until 12 weeks of age. You may need to pay the breeder to care for it a while longer, but the benefits are tremendous. The pup learns to curb its bite, get along with other dogs, effective communication with humans, and to behave appropriately. Only use this option if the breeder will continue to allow the pups safe contact with strangers and exposure to various stimulation, like motorcycles, traffic, sirens, loud music, other animals, bicycles, flapping objects, etc.

Have friends bring their vaccinated, healthy, friendly dogs visit your house frequently. You can sanitize the floor and yard with a weak bleach solution every other day. Have visitors remove their shoes, Lysol their clothing, and sanitize their hands before playing with the pup. Wipe down visiting dogs with antimicrobial baby wipes before playtime, paying special attention to feet, muzzle, and anal areas.

Take pup to pet-friendly environments. Getting out and about does not have to be dangerous. Put a blanket and pup in a shopping cart, then wheel it into a pet store. Have friendly strangers sanitize their hands before playing with the pup, and make sure to leave the baby in the cart during their visits. Some lucky people could take pup in a basket or box to their work place or office for a brief visit.

Take pup to places where people already wash their hands and other dogs are unlikely to be encountered. Dogs do not get many diseases from humans, so avoiding places where other dogs go can be a good strategy for meeting friendly humans without dangers of illness. Medical or Office workers on break usually love meeting pups. Many nursing homes would be glad to have calm puppies visit with the elderly patients, since dogs usually don't give diseases to humans either. Just avoid putting puppies on the ground in these places, and you should have a very well rounded Pup!

 A DOGS PLEA

Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart to all the world is more grateful for kindness then the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the worlds sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps fall upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it's cold and wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements.

I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Keep my bowl filled with water, for I cannot tell you I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean - healthy food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger!

And my friend when, I am very old, no longer enjoy good health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going, I am not having any fun. Please see that trusting life is taken gently. I shall leave this earth, knowing the last breath I draw, that my fate was always safest in YOUR hands!!

NU VET PLUS SUPPLEMENT

Why I recommend NuVet Plus - SCROLL DOWN TO VIEW VIDEO

As a quality breeder, my highest priority is the health of the dogs I breed. Part of that responsibility includes doing everything possible to assure their well being after they go to a new home. We give our dogs NuVet Plus, and no longer give Pet Tabs anymore. Our Contract states in order for your puppy to receive your health guarantee, you must purchase this product for at least one year. It is the best for your puppy! While all quality dog foods will provide everything needed to sustain life, virtually all of them are cooked during the manufacturing process. The heat from cooking causes much of the nutrients to be lost during the process. NuVet Plus is cold processed allowing all of the benefits of its rich nutrients to be retained, giving your new puppy an extra layer of protection, especially during the most critical first year of life. Additionally, when puppies nurse, they rely on their mother's colostrum (highly nutritious milk produced right after birth) for the antibodies they need to fight infection. However, the maternal antibodies effectiveness declines as the puppy's immune system begins to mature. By 8 weeks, your puppy's immune system is at a vulnerable point and will soon be challenged on multiple fronts.

When a puppy is moved away from its mother and siblings to live with its new family, the immune system is weakened by the stress of adoption and exposure to bacteria and viruses in its new home. These are pathogens for which the puppy's body has not yet developed antibodies, and it is widely recognized that the immune system is less effective in times of stress. So starting NuVet Plus now is important to helping your puppy grow into a healthy adult.

The vaccine series is also started during this time period. Vaccines are only effective if the immune system can respond properly. If the immune system is distracted by combating an actual disease processor and it does not receive the nutrients required to keep it strong during times of stress, the health of the puppy is at risk. The best way to prevent illness during this critical time is to provide the nutritional support required for proper immune system function.

About NuVet Plus - NuVet Plus is a synergistic combination of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals known to boost immune system function. All of NuVet Labs ingredients are sourced in the United States, manufactured in a human-grade U.S. FDA registered pharmaceutical laboratory, and cold processed to maximize the potency of the nutrients. NuVet Labs has been in business since 1997 and has never had a product recall. By including NuVet Plus® into your puppy?s daily diet, you can be confident that you are providing the nutrients required for optimal immune system performance.

NuVet Labs

We love animals and we know you love them too! Unfortunately, the majority of dogs and cats are not receiving a complete, healthy diet and many become ill and die prematurely. NuVet Labs main purpose is to help increase your pet's longevity and quality of life. Our products, NuVet Plus for Canines and NuVet Plus for Felines, provide the very best human-grade, natural ingredients available and utilize the latest advances in medical, veterinary and nutritional science. We pledge to adhere to the highest standards in products and services. Our goal is to maintain a lasting and caring relationship with our family of NuVet Plus customers and their pets they love.

NuVet supplimentOur scientists, veterinarians and formulators began with the premise that most pet diets are lacking the proper amounts of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. There are important nutrients that animals once received when they were living in a more primitive environment that are not available in the modern diet. Commercial pet foods contain numerous by-products that can make them poisonous, toxic and incapable of reducing the devastating effects of unstable oxygen molecules, also known as "free radicals." Free radicals have been implicated in more than fifty health problems in humans and animals including various forms of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, cataracts and premature aging.

After extensive testing with many different combinations of ingredients, our scientists formulated NuVet Plus. We believe, based on the most current medical, veterinarian and nutritional reports, NuVet Plus? will combat the onslaught of free radicals in our companion pets. This unique formula consists of precise amounts of vitamins, minerals and high-potency antioxidants that when combined, create a synergistic and powerful boost to the immune system.
